Serena's biggest passion is her music. She is a very talented cellist, and she plays solo as well as in her school orchestra. She also reads tarot cards for $20 per reading. She lives with her father, brother, and pet raccoon, Wally, but her father is almost never home. Her brother, Collin, is a surf rat who tends to get very overprotective of her at times. Their mother left them after one Christmas when they were very young. She would always threaten to leave, and then one day she just did.
The Atrox targets Serena and has selected her to be lecta because she is "the key," which means that she is a goddess with the power to shift the balance between good and evil. She could potentially be the destruction of the Atrox, or that of the daughters of the moon. Unfortunately for the Atrox, one of its most powerful Followers, Stanton, falls head-over-heels in love with Serena and would do anything to protect her. Even when she's angry with him (which happens a lot), he would give up everything he has for her sake, which leaves everyone to wonder what will become of these star-crossed lovers...
